Month full of the good stuff

Well, it has been about a month and a half since my last update. We started our Life Group at church the 3rd Sunday in February, we ended up signing up for a different group rather than the one that I had previously mentioned. The group that we attend is called Faith and Friends, we meet every other Sunday evening and hang out in between meetings. We are really happy that we chose this group as we have met some unbelieveable people and have hopefully made some life-long friends in the process. We have been pretty spoiled as far as weather goes down here for the last week, 2 days ago it was 85 degrees, yesterday it was raining all day and never got to 45, and today it rained all day and never got to 40. So the weather here the last few days has been depressing to say the least. Megan got pretty sick about 3-4 weeks ago and that lasted about 2 weeks, she was not feeling well at all and slept on the couch for a week and a half. She just recently started to get a little head cold again, hopefully this one doesn't last long. Work has been going pretty good, we were starting to turn green down here especially within the last week, but with this recent cold snap it will probably set it back a little. Megan has been a Mary Kay consultant for the past 2 years but just recently decided to really push her business more, her mom and her director from back home are coming down to do some classes with her and help her get started, once she is more comfortbale she will do great with it. Check out her website http://www.marykay.com/mgarber
That's about all that I can think of right now but I will make another post again soon. Take care. A&M

no más aclimatados

Acclimated no more. We missed the brunt of the ice and what not that tore through OK, KS, AR, and Misery. On Monday we made the decision to cover our greens to protect our new turf and it is a good thing we did as temps fell last night and will fall again tonight down past our "danger zone". It rained all day yesterday and never really fell below freezing till after midnight. I used to be an avid fan of winter but have come to the conclusion that I hate it, work is slow, we have depressing brown grass, it's way to cold, and I can't play as much golf as I would like. Megan and I have found a church that both of us really like. We went once last year and it caught us both so off guard we weren't sure if that was the one for us or not. We went back and have been going for a little over a month and we couldn't be happier with it. The church has contemporary music with a band and all, lighting system that would put some concerts to shame, and is flat out enormous. NorthRidge in Sabetha is big, but i would guess this place is at LEAST 2 times the size of that building. The pastor is really nice and really knows how to relate the bible to the current time and have it really make sense. We have met a few couple's and went out to eat with them 2 weeks ago. We had a couple that has 2 kids over for supper last week and have hung out with them a little and they are really both really nice. At the church in 2 weeks they are having a life group launch that we are fired up to go to, they say it is like a job fair and you just go around and pick which group will fit you best and sign up. We met on the Associate pastors on Sunday and he and his wife run a life group called "Hitched" he said that they have like 15 couples in that group and they are starting another called "Hitched 2". This is the group that we will probably join because it is for young couples around our age. Well, that should get everyone up to date on what has gone on down here for the last couple of weeks. I am posting a link to the church we attend if anyone wants to check it out, we attend the Greater Little Rock campus: http://www.newlifechurch.tv/ The picture on the home page is our campus.

BRRRRRRRRRRRR!!!

This is my third winter here in Arkansas and it is by far the coldest!! Yesterday was beautiful as it got up to 60 degrees, we had to cover our new greens to prevent any winter kill yesterday. Needless to say we didn't have many happy members but for the most part they completely understood. Woke up this morning to a brisk 21 degrees, and it never got above 25, we only had part of a crew come in and work until noon and then we all went home. Tomorrow morning they are calling for it to be a low of 9 and crawling back up to 32. I know this doesn't sound that cold to you folks way up north in KS but we are not accustomed to this cold of weather anymore!! We did have some SNOW today, not a dusting, or flurries, just a few flakes that fell from the sky. This is pretty exciting just to see considering the only winter we get is an ice storm once or twice a year. Megan has began a workout regimen that started about a week ago, she has been riding our stationary bike for about 30 minutes a day and has stuck to it! I have yet to jump on board, however in my own defense we do some things at work that take place of a workout. Yeah, yeah not as beneficial but....whatever. I will start soon, I promise. A&M

Well, since everyone and their mom(excluding my mom and maybe your mom) is blogging we are finally starting one. How often will we post to it I can not tell you but we will give it our best. We are just a few days shy of being in our new apartment for 2 months and we couldn't be happier in our new home. The complex where we previously lived was a hell hole. The apartments themselves were nice, but management sucked big time. We were in a 2bd/2ba with 900 sq.ft and now are in a 3bd/2ba with 1250 sq.ft. Having the extra room is awesome to say the least. And the best part is that the issues that we have had here have been taken care of the very next day. Anyway, I am working at Maumelle Country Club and will be starting my third year there in 4 days. Hopefully this will be a big year for us as a club as we desperately need it. Megan has been working at Arvest Bank for 15 months and just recently got a promotion to Senior Teller. We both love where we live as it is very close to both of our work places, neither of us drive over 5 min to or from. Megan started reading the Twilight series about 1 1/2 weeks ago, 4 books that get longer, the last one is like 750 pages, and she is almost done. One of her friends finished them all in like 4 days and has seen the movie 2 times. Well, that is all that I have for now, we will do our best to keep this updated so everyone knows what is going on with us way down here in the south. A&M
